Clergy & Lay Day Apart – Wichita
February 27 - 28, 6:30 pm - 4:00 pm | Asbury Church
Asbury Church, 2801 West 15th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203, USA
Bishop Greenway will join us for a focused time of encouragement, teaching, prayer, and challenge as we live more fully into our shared mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ and spreading scriptural holiness across the globe.
As the Heartland Conference moves beyond its earliest season, these days are designed to help us reflect together on who God is shaping us to be—moving from a collection of independent congregations toward a deeply connected church engaged in shared mission, prayer, and multiplication. We will spend time discussing our identity as the GMC, our calling as Heartland, and how we can come together to:
- Strengthen our churches as houses of prayer
- Engage in mission and ministry collaboratively
- Plant new churches and ministries in new places
Given the importance of this work, all clergy are expected to prioritize attendance, and I strongly encourage you to bring key lay leaders from your congregation to participate alongside you.
Wichita, Kansas Gathering
Asbury Church
2801 W 15th St.
Wichita, KS 67203
Friday, February 27 | 6:30–9:00 PM
Saturday, February 28 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
All clergy and lay leaders in Kansas and Nebraska are expected to prioritize attendance and encouraged to bring lay leadership from their congregation.
A brief additional note: Bishop Greenway has already itinerated through Oklahoma, so there will not be a separate Oklahoma gathering. However, clergy and laity from Oklahoma are more than welcome to attend at any of these locations.
We ask that all participants make their own travel and lodging arrangements, as we have not arranged hotel blocks for these gatherings.
I am confident these days will be formative for us as a conference and strengthening for your local ministry. I look forward to gathering together.
