Clergy & Lay Day Apart Recap
Leaders from across the Heartland Conference recently gathered for a series of Clergy & Lay Day Apart events with Bishop Jeff Greenway. These gatherings provided a meaningful time of encouragement, teaching, prayer, and challenge as we continue discerning God’s call upon the Global Methodist Church and the Heartland Conference.
Held in Wichita, Colorado Springs, and Nixa, the events brought together clergy and lay leaders from across the region for focused reflection on who God is shaping us to be as a conference. As the Heartland Conference continues to grow, these gatherings served as an important reminder that we are moving from a collection of independent congregations toward a deeply connected church—united in mission, prayer, and multiplication.
Throughout the time together, Bishop Greenway encouraged leaders to remain centered on the mission of the church and to boldly pursue the work God has placed before us. Conversations and teaching focused on several key priorities for the future of the Heartland Conference:
- Strengthening our churches as houses of prayer
- Engaging in mission and ministry collaboratively
- Planting new churches and ministries in new places
Each gathering included times of worship, teaching, prayer, and discussion, allowing leaders to connect with one another while seeking God’s guidance for the future of our churches and communities.
