April Cantu

Administrative Assistant

April grew up between Alabama and Kansas first learning about God from her grandparents. As an adult she later joined the Methodist tradition where her true relationship with Jesus began to take shape. Currently, she attends Belle Plaine Global Methodist Church, and her calling is to share the love of Jesus with those who may not know that he loves them. This is the basis of her life verse, 1 Corinthians 16:14–”Let all you do be done in love.” April is active in Kairos Prison Ministry International and volunteers in her local congregation as well.

She has been happily married to Ernie for 32 years, and they have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. They also have 3 rescue dogs–one of which is 15 years old, two of which are nine months old–which keep them busy. Besides her dogs, April likes to spend time with family, read, and go adventuring with Ernie.

April has experience in the private sector in management and working with senior citizens and the disabled. She also has a lengthy history in the food and grocery industries. She has also worked on a variety of community organization boards where she gained valuable experience in finance, budgeting, communications, and event planning. Currently, April is working on completion of her CLM certification.
